Olive Cemetery. ------------------------------------------ Sally Mae Friedman (nee Blaushild) of Lyndhurst died June 10, 2017. She was 86. Sally was born on Feb. 6, 1931, in Cleveland to Bennie and Bertha Blaushild. Sally grew up in Shaker Heights and graduated from The Lear School in Miami. She attended the University of Miami. Sally was a founding member of Brith Emeth Congregation and a member of the Brith Emeth sisterhood. She taught her children and grandchildren a love of books and desserts. She taught her grandchildren that it was respectable, even necessary sometimes to have dessert for breakfast. She was known for her quick wit, intelligence and devotion to her family. She was a lifelong member of the Blaushild Family Club. Sally was the loving wife of 63 years to the late George Friedman; beloved mother of Martin (Sandy Livingston) Friedman, Julie (Charles Basham) Friedman, Paul (Miriam Price) Friedman and Ben (Jody Friedlander) Friedman; proud grandmother of Katherine, Alexander, Alana, Joshua, Sarah and Matthew; and dear sister of the late Dorothy Miller.
